The Kargil War was an armed conflict between India and Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999 in the Kargil district of Kashmir.
The cause of the war was the infiltration of Pakistani soldiers and Kashmiri militants into positions on the Indian side of the Line of Control (LOC), which serves as the de facto border between the two states.
The war is one of the most recent examples of high altitude warfare in mountainous terrain, which posed significant logistical problems for the combating sides. This was only the second direct ground war between any two countries after they had developed nuclear weapons, after the Sino-Soviet border conflict of 1969.
Casualties for both sides were heavy. Pakistani claims gave two figures. The figure of 357 soldiers dead was challenged by some Pakistani officials, who claimed that 4,000 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the conflict.

Hi Every body I am Aaqil khan, I am a medical student, now i am staying in karachi.Though i am educated person so i considered the actual truth.Dont angry with me all my pakistani. India is a land of great peoples i allude to Mahatma Gandhi who brought the Independence for us but some selfish pakistanies divided the great country. It is a great mistake for us all my pakistani people so our pakistan people now suffering with hungry and many young peoples are Joining as a Terrorist,many are leaves their School .And Our pakistani Government misuse the Finance.I hate this Government.All my pakistani people change your mind and heart and Join the Hand with Great India.You consider your self .If you want to know India please you read the Book of Great saint Swami Vivekananda.You teach from India, now India is a developing country who will help us .Recently India help our flood people I salute the Great indian and i bow down my head near Indian people and his Government.Thank u all Indian .

jab 15th aug ya 26 jan aata hai. tabhi hume desh kee yad aati hai. jai hind jai hind ke hum nare lagana suru karte hai. hum jab kam per jate hai. to maa kahti hai beta shaym ko jaidi ghar aana….
