Karnataka is India’s eighth largest state in terms of area and ninth largest state in terms of population and comprises of 29 districts. The state has an illustrious history of successfully introducing several industrial and technological initiatives and aims to achieve a GSDP of over 9% and of over 12% for the industrial sector, by promoting a diversified industrial base with strengths in both old and new economy fields.
The Global Investors Meet which started in Bangalore on Thursday. Over 2,000 investors from across the world are taking part in the two-day Meet in Bangalore.
Praising the Karnataka government for organising the GIM, Jaitley said: “Karnataka has probably one of the best human resources in the country. It has reasonable infrastructure which should be converted into world standards.”
The Global Investors Meet in Bangalore is reportedly raining so much investment that the meet may bring in Rupees 5 trillion or rupees 5 lakh crore to the country in the next four to five years.
